Just recently I posted about cool ecological packaging for food, and here comes another cute thing in eco-friendly implementation.
DBA have come up with an innovative pen made of potatoes, which is, as they claim, 98% biodegradable. The body of the pen is made of bio-plastic which is derived from potatoes grown with no use of GMO technology. The ink reservoir is made of renewable, biodegradable fiber, and the ink (made of water, non-toxic pigments, glycerin (a food-grade sugar alcohol), and sodium benzoate (a food-grade preservative)) meets highest safety standards for human and environment toxicity. The external packaging is also made of 100% recyclable materials.
It is great to see how a little responsible thinking can change the way we look at simple everyday things. DBA processes are all centered around this eco-friendliness idea, and their focus is amazing and encouraging.
