Burger King To Sponsor Digg’s 404 Page

BrandDNA reports: Burger King in the US is running an inovative campaign on Digg – they’re sponsoring error messages.

Mistype a term into the Digg search feed and it returns a cheeky message promoting Burger King.

The message reads: Looks like your search had a typo. Maybe you’ve got tiny hands. The beefy $1 Burger King Double Cheeseburger is so big and beefy it’s not for the tiny handed.

It’s not such a great joke, and is hardly well targeted advertising, as internet ad could and should be. But it is smart anyway. It’s smart in its surprise, and that is what makes it a good move.
