Giant Stationery Marking Out Space

Property developer Land Securities owning some office space approached Radford Wallis to help them split the vast floor space into four sections, so that it was clearly visible to the prospective clients.

The designers chose an awesome way to do that by building scaled up stationery objects, like a ruler, a marker, scissors, and an adhesive tape. The giant objects were placed to demonstrate the partition lines.

These unbelievable sculptures are made by the 51-year-old metal artist from the Russian province – Nikolay Aldunin. Having worked as a locksmith and a turner he had a chance to get to know every little thing about metals, and look now where it all has led him to. Fabulous!

Billboard Turned Into “Double Happiness” Swing Set

Didier Faustino, the French-Portuguese architect based in Paris, has turned the construction that used to be a billboard, this awesome swing set, which has got an absolutely deserving name Double Happiness.

As the artist puts it himself:

Double Happiness responds to the society of materialism where individual desires seem to be prevailing over all. This nomad piece of urban furniture allows the reactivation of different public spaces and enables inhabitants to reappropriate fragments of their city. They will both escape and dominate public space through a game of equilibrium and desequilibrium. By playing this “risky” game, and testing their own limits, two persons can experience together a new perception of space and recover an awareness of the physical world.

Do Sightseeing With Sight Seating Chair

German designer Tim Kerp has created a very smart piece of furniture, specifically designed for outdoor seating.

SIGHT is a big white sphere made of woven plastic with an upholstered interior. The innovative balcony furniture was designed as a retreat from the sunlight, noise and bustle of the big city. A window focuses attention to the bright side of life. Trought gently lifting you get SIGHT into the desired position.

The chair won Jury Prize at “Garden Goes Balcony” Contest 2011.

Beardo Is A Hat For A Weirdo?

If you liked the winter update for a chair we posted about recently, you must see this idea from the Canadian Jeff Phillips, apparently a snowboarder enthusiast. His Beardo beard hat, as weird as it looks, is just great for a cold winter.

Though the first prototype was made using an old knit scarf and far from perfect, it has been severely refined to the innovative and fully patented design that you see today.

Awesome Street Art Brings Life To Ugly Streets

We posted earlier a couple of street art projects from the German art group Mentalgassi. Here comes another one, amazingly simple yet powerfully transforming ugly urban design pieces into more than acceptable images. Waste containers, phone booths, post boxes and many more objects are covered with different faces thus bringing life to otherwise dull parts of the streets of Berlin.

Amazing Halloween Pumpkin Carving

This is just super awesome!

Ray Villafane from the US should be getting rich in one Halloween night: the artist carves amazing sculptures of pumpkins. His hobby had started when he was a school teacher. He made a few pumpkins for students, after which parents started ordering him more complicated face images for their office parties. Now, he charges 2,500 USD per day and travels all around the country all through October.

Check out Ray’s website for more of the amazing works.

Vanishing Fruit Wash Label

Here is an awesome label for fruit sellers.

Scott Amron’s vanishing fruitwash labels dissolve as you wash them and turn into some sort of a soap that helps you wash the fruit it is sticked to, thus removing water-resistant wax, pesticides and bacteria. The label will not be washed away by water unless you “activate” it by rubbing.
