This is a pilot launch, before actually switching to the purely health menu, the company had  tried one restaurant with a mixed menu (salad bar was introduced  additionally to the traditional Mac menu) in a Parisian suburb,  resulting after one year&#8217;s work in an increased check (Euro 15 vs Euro  4).</p>
<p>If the concept gets popular with the customers, some more restaurants will follow.</p>

With an easy move of a paint brush they turned a pedestrian crossing into a portion of fries. This was done during the days of Zurifest (Züri Fäscht) when the foot traffic increased in the city.</p>

<p>On a video-billboard they kept playing a game where passers-by had to catch an image of a McDonald&#8217;s product (a pie, a sundae, a cup of coffee) from a number of chaotically moving objects. With the successfully taken image the player could go to the nearest restaurant to get that product for free.</p>
<p>Very nice interactive, engaging idea for increasing short-term sales and creating a positive, fun image of McDonalds.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If I ask you to list the Russian words that you know, where do you start? Babushka, matreshka, balalayka, ikra&#8230; That seems it. McDonalds have played this well in Canada during the Olympics. For the Russian delegation that had settled near the restaurant, they&#8217;ve prepared something that one would call a McMatreshka.</p>
<p>The idea is that the packs are placed one into another, just like with the famous Russian doll, until, finally, you reach a free Big Mac coupon. To make it even more like at home, the coupon is made in Russian. With the failures of the Russian sportsmen, this move might warm them up a little <img src='http://www.nastaev.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
